Green electricity in Haute-Garonne: the supplier Volterres and the producer SOLVEO Energies conclude a partnership to supply energy in local circuits to key players

The innovative electricity provider Volterres has been working for over a year with SOLVEO Energies, a French producer of renewable energy, to support companies and local authorities in the French department of Haute-Garonne in their energy transition. These structures can now buy the energy produced by the solar power plants in Seysses and Purpan. The offer has already attracted many local players, including the Haute-Garonne Department Energy Syndicate (SDEHG), the SICOVAL and the Saint-Gobain Group company WEBER.

The production of green energy in local circuits allows for better acceptability of renewable energy projects, a major challenge for France to achieve its objectives in terms of energy transition.

For the past 3 years, Volterres has been supporting private and public key players in this challenge, offering them the possibility to accelerate this transition locally. The company provides “traditional” supply services and at no extra cost, also provides an innovative traceability service for electricity purchases. The tool developed by the Volterres teams is based on blockchain technology to trace the origin, nature and distribution of the type of energy reserved for each consumer in real time. This way, consumers can transparently track the composition of their electricity supply, the resulting carbon footprint, and be aware of local renewable energy production needs.

Thanks to a partnership with the French producer SOLVEO Energies, companies and local authorities in Haute-Garonne who have signed an electricity supply contract with Volterres can quantify the share of renewable energy in their electricity purchases in real time, including the share of the recent solar farms in Seysses and Purpan.

This is notably the case for the network of electric charging stations deployed by the Haute-Garonne Department Energy Syndicate (SDEHG): around a hundred sites throughout the country are now supplied by this innovative system. This example illustrates a very interesting time consistency between the production of electricity during solar hours and the consumption of these charging stations. Thus, certain new electricity-consuming uses, such as electric mobility, can offer relevant compatibility with decarbonised and decentralised means of production such as solar panels.

Other key players, such as SICOVAL, the conurbation South-East Toulouse or the company WEBER (for its industrical site in Colomiers, near Toulouse) have also chosen Volterres and SOLVEO Energies to optimise their supply of green and local electricity.

The Haute-Garonne department is a key territory for developing Volterres’ offer thanks in particular to a large concentration of companies in various sectors such as aviation, and through the development potential of renewable energies.

“By putting our technology at the service of French renewable energy producers such as SOLVEO Energies, we are keen to encourage the production of local green energy in the Occitanie rgion, where Volterres is already involved in several projects. More generally, we want to be a lever for French companies and local authorities wishing to accelerate the energy transition of their own territories,” states Alexis Bouanani, Volterres General Manager.

According to Jean-Marc Matéos, CEO of SOLVEO Energies, “Intervening in complementarity with independent suppliers such as Volterres is an asset for developing synergies in terms of energy transition, local circular economy and better taking into account the consumption needs of individuals, professionals and communities. ”
